How to get a DeepSeek API key
To use DeepSeek translation inside VNTranslator, you need a DeepSeek API key from the DeepSeek Platform. Treat it like a password: anyone with your key can spend your credits.
Security reminder
Never share your API key in screenshots, Discord messages, or public repos. If you suspect a leak, revoke the key immediately and create a new one.
Create a key on the DeepSeek Platform
- Sign in to the DeepSeek Platform: platform.deepseek.com/api_keys
- Click Create / New key (wording may vary).
- Name the key (example: VNTranslator) and copy it.
- Store it safely. If you lose it, create a new key.
Billing & rate limits
- Pricing is token-based (input + output). Official page: Models & Pricing.
- DeepSeek rate limiting can be dynamic during high traffic. Official note: Rate Limit.
Use the key in VNTranslator
- Open the Translator page.
- Select DeepSeek as your translation service/model.
- Paste the key into the DeepSeek API Key field.
- Run a short test translation before doing a full file.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Authentication error (invalid/expired key) | Verify you copied the full key, then revoke and create a new one if needed. |
| Requests are slow | Retry later or reduce batch size if the platform is under heavy traffic. |
| Insufficient balance / quota | Check your DeepSeek account billing/credits and confirm your pricing tier. |
